If you are interested in working in non-bench roles in industry such as medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and project management it can be challenging to get your foot in the door straight from academia. Fellowship programs that take fresh PhD graduates and give them 1-2 years of training in those fields are a great way to make the transition. Join us to meet recent PhDs who have done fellowship programs at Boehringer Ingelheim, Regeneron and AstraZeneca to learn how they landed those prized fellowships and what their experience was like in the program and what their next steps in their career will be.

We hear from many professionals that having experience in industry makes your resume stand out amongst the other applicants to your first position after leaving academia. However, PhD students and postdocs are spending years in academic labs so how to get that experience? Doing an internship or co-op while in graduate school is one option and it requires a lot of planning including getting your PI to agree to let you do it. Come hear from 4 PhD students who have recently done internships and co-ops to learn how they navigated the process, including the application, the university paperwork, their thesis research, and what they learned in industry that will help them in their next career move!
