iJOBS Seminar: Careers with a PhD in Supply Chain Project Management
Event Description
Project management is a skill that we all develop during our PhD education while working on our thesis project and it is in high demand in industry settings! Edwin Collier, PhD will first share his personal career path from academia to industry, starting with his role at a small biotech company and progressing to a senior leadership position at Johnson & Johnson. He’ll discuss the key decisions that shaped his transition from R&D into supply chain, the challenges he faced along the way, and practical lessons that PhD students and postdocs can apply as they plan their own careers in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries. Then Olajompo (Jompo) Moloye-Olabisi, PhD andYung Chan will guide attendees through a structured, project-management-based approach to transitioning into industry. Topics include creating a career timeline, identifying target sectors, crafting impactful resumes, executing a focused job search, and interview preparation. They will also share their own career journeys through R&D and supply chain as real-world examples to illustrate the process.
