Graduate Student Research Paper Award

This award recognizes the pioneering research contributions of the next generation of scholars of eighteenth-century studies, this $200 award will recognize an outstanding research essay of 15-30 pages, which has not been previously published.

K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Awards

Award provides support for graduate students to attend AAC&U’s Annual Meeting. Recognizes students with promise as future leaders of higher education; who demonstrate a commitment to developing academic and civic responsibility; and whose work reflects a strong emphasis on teaching and learning.

Dissertation Award

Honors the best PhD dissertation with degree awarded in the previous calendar year. Nominations must be received from the student’s advisor or the scholar most familiar with the student’s research, and the nominator must be from within sociology. ASA membership is required.

Outstanding Dissertations Competition

AAHHE and ETS recognize the significant need to increase the number of Hispanics receiving doctoral degrees, entering higher education on the tenure track, and eventually serving in faculty leadership and administrative roles.

Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Best Abstract Awards

Student or Postdoc must be presenting at the annual Experimental Biology meeting. Student must be sponsored by a Regular member of ASPET. Applications should be made to the Division (see website for different divisions) to which research applies. Applicants may apply for only ONE Best Paper Award.

Emilie Du Chatelet Award for Independent Scholarship

This annual award supports research in progress by an independent or adjunct scholar on a feminist or Women’s Studies subject. Projects must advance understanding of women’s experiences and/or contributions to 18thC culture or offer a feminist analysis of any aspect of 18thC culture and/or society.

George R. Cooley Award

Each year the American Society of Plant Taxonomists recognizes an outstanding paper presentation by awarding the George R. Cooley Award to the presenter of a paper judged to be the best among those eligible.

Zellner Thesis Award in Business and Economic Statistics

This award is for the best Ph.D. thesis dealing with an applied problem in Business and Economic Statistics. It is intended to recognize outstanding work by promising young researchers in the field. Selma Jeanne Cohen Conference Presentation Award

This award provides up to $1000 to a scholar to participate in a plenary or working session at the ASTR conference. This presentation must, in the spirit of Selma Jeanne Cohen, explore the intersections of theatre and dance/movement. Funds shall be used to cover travel and hotel expenses.
