Welcome to GradFund Conversations! This blog post will give you, Rutgers graduate student, a better idea of what to expect from each of the four kinds of meetings that GradFund offers.
Let’s begin the journey through GradFund’s meeting types together!
We offer 4 types of meetings
- Planning Meeting
- Help with a Funder
- Application Review
- Post-Award Consultation
Are you new to GradFund and would like to become familiar with the tools and resources needed to navigate the external funding landscape? Schedule a Planning Meeting!
During a Planning Meeting, we will talk about the services we offer to support you as you familiarize yourself with the tools and resources (such as the GradFund database and Pivot) available to navigate the external funding landscape. We will also guide you as you begin planning your short-, medium-, and long-term funding and research goals. Your next step after this meeting is to continue to explore the tools and resources that we have covered and curate your own list of external funding opportunities to apply to, doing this might help you fund your graduate research over the next several years. For more information about our Planning Meeting, please review our blog post, The Planning Meeting.
Have you curated your own list of external funding opportunities to apply to and would like to learn more about one specific funder’s review process and how to best frame your research and plans to that funder’s goals? Schedule a Help with a Funder meeting!
During a Help with a Funder meeting, you will learn more about the specific funder’s goals and how to position yourself and your research to better answer the funder’s objectives. We will also share some strategies for writing a competitive application, discuss the application procedures, and help you as you develop your plan for writing and revising your application. Your next step after this meeting is to continue to learn more about the specific funder and award application and begin preparing your application materials (essays, budget, cv, forms, etc.).
Are you working on your application materials (essays, budget, cv, forms, etc.) and would like to review those materials for your one award application? Schedule an Application Review meeting!
At an Application Review meeting we will review your application materials (essays, budget, cv, forms, etc.) focusing on statements for your one award application and offer you written comments and suggestions on how to make your materials more competitive.
Have you been offered an award or two and would like to get help on how to move forward? Schedule a Post-Award Consultation meeting!
During a Post-Award Consultation meeting, we will share some tips on how to leverage your achievements and help you navigate the post-award process.
Now that we have journeyed through GradFund’s four meeting types, take a moment, and reflect on where you are in your graduate career and your external funding application process before scheduling your appointment. For more information on how to schedule and confirm your meeting with us, please review our blog post, How do I schedule & confirm my meeting with GradFund.
Best wishes as you continue your journey!
