Why apply for grants and fellowships?
External, merit-based awards lend prestige to young scholars' emerging careers, facilitate excellence in graduate study, and provide financial support for robust and innovative research. Ultimately, proposal writing experience as a graduate student sets the foundation for lifelong scholarly success.
GradFund's Mission, Model, and Success
GradFund, a service of the Graduate School-New Brunswick, helps graduate scholars craft competitive applications for external, merit-based awards. GradFund's peer-mentoring model employs advanced doctoral candidates who are rigorously trained as Fellowship Advisors to mentor graduate students in all programs and disciplines. We offer individualized, group, and online guidance and resources for best practices in graduate student grantsmanship. Each year, we help Rutgers graduate scholars win over $2 million in support, including some of the most prestigious graduate awards available nationwide.
