Samuel & Marion Merill Graduate Student Travel Grants

This award of $500 supports graduate students who are presenting a paper or serving as a commenter at a session or panel of the Organization of American Historians annual conference.

Renate Voris Fellowship

The Renate Voris Fellowship is awarded annually to a doctoral candidate in any field in the Arts and Humanities during the first or second year of the dissertation work. The research must include the intellectual and artistic products of women thinkers.

Birgit Baldwin Fellowship in Scandinavian Studies

This grant encourages the research and writing of dissertations for the PhD in topics concerned with Scandinavian (Nordic) literature or film that can most effectively be pursued in the archives and libraries of the Nordic countries.

The Aina Birnitis Dissertation-Completion Fellowship in the Humanities for Latvia

This award supports a year of research and writing to help advanced graduate students in the humanities in the last year of their dissertation writing. The fellowship provides a $20,000 stipend/year and $1,000 for university fees. Applicants must be Latvian citizens or residents.

Graduate Partnerships Program

A doctoral fellowship training program coordinates training and funding for PhD students attending a school of nursing. The program combines the academic environment of a university and the breadth and depth of research at the National Institutes of Health.

Dissertation Fellowship

This $25,000 fellowship supports graduate students of the social sciences whose research advances progressive values. These awards support works that have the potential to contribute to making U.S. society less unequal, more democratic, and more environmentally sustainable.
