Fichter Research Grant Competition

Fichter Research Grants are awarded annually by ASR to members of the Association involved in promising sociological research on women in religion or on the intersection between religion and gender or religion and sexualities.

Thomson ISI Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Scholarship

This award fosters research in information science by encouraging and assisting doctoral students in the field with their dissertation research and provide travel to the annual conference. Because of the limits proposed by timing considerations, awards may be made for research underway.

Dissertation Awards

Dissertation awards in: Fluid Dynamics, Nuclear Physics, Experimental Particle Physics, Computational Physics, Atomic, Molecular, or Optical Physics, Plasma Physics and Beam Physics. See website for details of individual awards. Recipient must be nominated for the award.

Dissertation Fellowship in American Art

This award assists graduate students who are ABD in any stage of Ph.D. dissertation research or writing. Applicant must be a Ph.D. candidate in a department of art history and the dissertation must be focused on a topic in the history of the visual arts of the US.

Swiss Scholarships for University Studies, Fine Arts and Music Schools

The Commission offers stipends to graduate researchers or artists/performers who wish to work in a university or academic laboratory in Switzerland. Awards support candidates for the 9-month academic year.

ARIT Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Turkey

PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in the social sciences and humanities may apply. Support is given for projects in Turkey for up to an academic year; preference is given to projects of shorter length. Non-U.S. citizens must be affiliated with an academic U.S. or Canadian institution.

Drug Abuse Dissertation Research (R36)

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) announces the availability of NIH Dissertation Award grants (R36) to support drug abuse doctoral dissertation research in NIDA areas of priority.
