To encourage academic excellence for students in the computing discipline. The UPE initiated this award with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society, as the largest association of computer professionals, to raise the importance of academic achievement in our future computer professionals.
Up to twenty scholarships of up to $2,000 each are available, for one academic year (9 months) starting in October, to recognize and reward active leaders in the IEEE Computer Society student branch chapters who show promise in their academic and professional efforts.
This program provides ten fellowships of US$1,000 each. They will be awarded based on the student membership in each of the main geographic regions: Americas, Europe/Mid-East/Africa, Asia/Pacific.
