Carnegie Observatories operates several semi-annual post-doctoral fellowship programs in observational and theoretical astronomy and instrumentation. Fellows are allowed to pursue the research topics of their choice and have access to all of Carnegie’s observing facilities in Chile.

Department of Terrestrial Magnetism: Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Department of Earth and Planetary Science offers a variety of postdoctoral fellowship and associate positions. Fellows and associates can engage in a wide range of experiences that are shaped to preserve maximum flexibility and to fit the scientific interests of both Staff Members and Fellows.
Postdoctoral Research Associates Program
The mission of the programs is to promote excellence in scientific and technological research conducted by the U. S. government through the administration of programs offering postdoctoral research opportunities at sponsoring federal laboratories and affiliated institutions.
IARC Postdoctoral Fellowships for Training in Cancer Research
This program aims to support junior scientists (must have obtained their degree in the last five years) from any country who intend to pursue a career in cancer research and wish to complete their training at the IARC in Lyon, France working in a research group.
Doctoral Degree Scholarships in Cancer Nursing
Awarded to graduate students who are pursuing doctoral study in the field of cancer nursing research and preparing for careers as nurse scientists. Initial awards are made for up to 2 years with the possibility of a 2-year renewal. There is a stipend of $15,000 per year.
Grants and Fellowships in Cancer Prevention
The goal of this program is to provide funding for innovative projects expected to lead to future funding from other peer-reviewed sources. Awards are limited to postdoctoral level applicants only. Applicants must have their degree in hand at the start of the project.
Graduate Fellowships in the Applied Physical Sciences
The Graduate Fellowship Award supports students of the applied physical, biological and engineering sciences who demonstrate exceptional creativity and intelligence. The award includes five years of fellowship with full tuition support.
Michigan Society of Fellows
The Michigan Society Fellows is a 3-year postdoctoral position. Each Fellow has an appointment as Assistant Professor in an affiliated department of the University and an appointment as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Society of Fellows. The current annual stipend is $52,000.
