Young Persons Paper Competition 2008

IGEM is keen to promote opportunities and challenges of the gas industry as a potential career to a new generation of young people. Accordingly a competition to win a Travelling Fellowship has been arranged that is open to a wide range of young people who have the potential to make a contribution to the gas industry.

The travelling fellowship consists of a prize to attend the IGU Research Conference

The winner will have the opportunity to network with 500 gas professionals, focussing

issues with 45 oral presentations in 12 sessions and 3 not to be missed

conference will be of high scientific standard. The winner shall be flown to Paris on Monday 6th October 2008 to be given

visit the city before attending the congress and seminars on the 8th October.

The competition is open to all young gas professionals who will be at least 18 years of age but under the age of 30 on the 24th April 2008. All entrants must be able to travel on Monday 6th October 2008 and have a valid passport with 6 months remaining. They must also be available to present their winning presentation at either an IGEM Conference or to their local IGEM Section, to share details of their presentation in IGEM publications and to present their experiences to help promote any future competitions. Finally, if they are fortunate enough to reach the final and if not already an existing member, they must apply to become a member of IGEM (before the final on 24th April 2008).
