This is a fellowship for scholars interested in pursuing post-baccalaureate study at a university in continental Europe or in South America. Fields of study include literature, European and South American history, diplomatic history, and international law. Recipients must be U.S. citizens holding a bachelor¿s degree, be interested in pursuing a diplomatic career, and be proficient in French and one other European language. The fellowship of $20,000 will be awarded to partially defray expenses related to the program of study. Awardees may apply for up to two additional annual renewals, the granting of which will be contingent upon the quality of work done and the Fellows¿ plans for future work.
