Western States Affiliate Postdoctoral Fellowship

Objective: To help trainees initiate careers in cardiovascular and stroke research, and further research training while obtaining significant research results. Science Focus: Research broadly related to cardiovascular function and disease, stroke, or to related basic science, clinical, bioengineering or biotechnology, and public health problems. Disciplines: All basic disciplines as well as epidemiological, behavioral, community and clinical investigations that bear on cardiovascular and stroke problems. Award Duration: One or two years. Competitive reapplication is allowed during the final year of the awardee?s current AHA support. A maximum of three years of postdoctoral fellowship support from the American Heart Association is allowed. Individuals with little or no research experience are encouraged to apply for two years of support. Investigators with proposed research projects to be conducted in California, Navada, and Utah may apply for these programs. Check funder for next deadline (approx Jan. 09).
