University Research Fellowships

The University Research Fellowship scheme aims to provide outstanding scientists, who should have the potential to become leaders in their chosen field, with the opportunity to build an independent research career. Those appointed are expected to be strong candidates for permanent posts in universities at the end of their fellowships.

Open to scientists with between 2 and 7 years postdoctoral research experience. Open to nationals from the European Economic Area (EEA), and non-nationals who have graduated from a UK university, or have worked in a UK institution for a minimum of three years.

Funding is available for 5 years in the first instance. ***Competitions generally open in August with a deadline of the beginning of November.***
