The Schomburg Center Scholars-in-Residence Program

Encompasses projects in Aftican, Afro-American, and Afro-Caribbean history and culture, with an emphasis on African Diasporan Studies and Biography, Social HIstory, and African American Culture.Fellows are required to be in full-time residence at the Center during the award period.

Persons seeking support for research leading to degrees are not elegible under this program. Candidates for advanced degrees must have received the degree or completed all requirements for it by the application deadline.

Foreign nationals are not eligible unless they will have resided in the US for 3 years immediately preceding the award date.
