The Research Grant

To promote and support research in Newfoundland and Labrador Studies in the humanities and social sciences. The Research Grant is intended for support of basic research not normally exceeding $3,500. Such support may be awarded as the only funding required or as part of a larger project requiring partnership with another agency. It might support, for example:
1. travel and accommodation expenses incurred for gathering data, for field trips, or for library/archival research;
2. the purchase of professional services;
3. technical services used for data processing or for the purchase/rental of special equipment/supplies not readily available, such as those required for the preparation of manuscripts, maps, tables or charts.

Any research involving human subjects, including interviews and use of personal information, must be done in accordance with appropriate ethical guidelines.
