Terra Summer Residency

The Terra Foundation for American Art offers two types of opportunities at its annual Terra Summer Residency in Giverny, France: eight-week fellowships for emerging artists and predoctoral scholars to pursue individual work and research within a framework of interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue, and senior advisor positions for established artists and scholars to serve as mentors and seminar leaders. In addition, guest lecturer positions of varying lengths are available by invitation.

In operation for more than a decade, the Terra Summer Residency’s primary aim is to foster an intercultural dialogue on American art in a site rich in historical and cultural significance. The program seeks to support the creative and research projects of the fellows and senior advisors, inviting them to reflect on cultural interpretive models and giving them the opportunity to create an intellectual network for lifelong exchange.
