ACF seeks applications from highly motivated graduate and undergraduate college students interested in furthering their education in the conservation and environmental studies field. Internships are generally 12 weeks in length. Interns are placed in non-profit groups, agencies, Alaska Native groups, and other interested organizations that have identified assignments complimenting ACF’s mission. ACF provides funding support to student interns through the host organization. The amount of support varies depending on travel needs and duration of intern assignment. When applicable, ACF reimburses interns for the lowest round-trip airfare from their school to Alaska and back. The typical cost of living support is $4,000 for a 12-week internship. Host organizations cover the employer’s share of payroll tax, worker’s compensation, and benefits. Host organizations may withhold applicable state and federal employment taxes.
Application deadline is commonly in February. Visit funder website for more information.
