The focus of the MBARI internship is on the intern’s professional development-learning research techniques and improving communication and collaboration skills. Each intern will have an MBARI mentor who will supervise a specific project. Interns will also serve as peer-mentors to other interns. The internship program is open to teachers and college students (undergraduate and graduate level). Potential internships include ocean observation systems, ocean-floor mapping,
Web design, Microbiology Sensor development, geology, seismology, physical oceanography,
electrical engineering, mechanical engineering,
deep-sea ecology, in situ chemical analyses,
software engineering, video technology,
