The term of the fellowship is one year, renewable for a second year, in residence at the University of British Columbia. The Fellow will complete a directed project related to the Simons Centre’s concerns and contribute to Simons Centre program activities. The Fellowship stipend is CDN$40,000 per year with a CDN$5,000 per year research and travel expense allowance. ELIGIBILITY: * Ph.D. awarded no more than three calendar years prior to the anticipated commencement date of the Fellowship; Ph.D. awarded at the time of application is preferred; all requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed before commencement of the Fellowship. Applicants will be evaluated on the following: Demonstrated scholarly accomplishment; Promise of future success as a scholar or practitioner; Supportive recommendations; Quality of the proposed research project and its fit to the Simons Centre 2005 priority issue concerns; Expected contribution beyond the purview of the proposed research project to Simons Centre program activities, including development and teaching of the course on Nuclear Disarmament; Potential to enhance the Liu Institute community by expanding the diversity of its background and experience.
