Roy J. Shlemon Scholarship Awards

The Roy J. Shlemon Scholarship Award supports graduate students with the best research proposals within the broad field of environmental and engineering geology. Scholarship award amounts vary from year to year, and we attempt to award at least one scholarship for Master’s level research and one for Doctoral level research. The number of awards and scholarship amount is determined at the discretion of the Roy J. Shlemon Scholarship Awards Committee. In recent years we have awarded up to $3000 to scholarship winners.

The primary role of this awards program is to provide partial support of master’s and doctoral thesis research in engineering geology. The program is competitive and there is no guarantee of funding, The Scholarship Awards Committee strongly encourages women, minorities, and persons with disabilities to participate fully in this program. Eligibility is restricted to student members of the Engineering Geology Division. Visit funder website for more information.
