The program seeks recent or anticipated PhDs who have expertise in climate science and who are interested in applying their knowledge of the climate system to decision-making capacity in climate-sensitive sectors. Preference is given to those who have held a PhD for no more than five years.
Interested individuals should send the following materials to the UCAR Visiting Scientist Programs:
Statement of interest and how interests relate to the PACE goals and objectives, Curriculum vita and list of publications, Description of PhD thesis research (and other research, if appropriate), including general areas of expertise (e.g., regional modeling, drought dynamics, extreme event estimation, etc.), PhD or Master’s thesis title(s) and abstract(s), Names and addresses of at least three references. One must be from advisor. Applicant is responsible for requesting that letters be sent directly to VSP electronically or by postal or fax.
