Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme

***No longer awarded***

Each award will cover the difference between the tuition fee for a home (U.K.) postgraduate student and the fee chargeable to an overseas postgraduate student. Subject to the satisfactory progress of the award holder, awards will be renewed for a second or third year according to the normal length of the research course being undertaken. The Overseas Research Students Awards Scheme (ORS) grants awards on a competitive basis to overseas postgraduate students of outstanding merit and research potential. The awards are tenable at any participating academic institution and may be held in any field of study. Applications for the award must be made via the U.K. academic institution where the applicant has conditionally been accepted for admission as a registered research student for a full-time course of study and for a higher degree. ORS awards are not offered to those undertaking taught postgraduate or undergraduate courses. Applicants may submit an application for an award through only one academic institution.
