NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research

Under the guidance of preceptors, students conduct research in selected areas of laboratory investigation. The goal of the program is to expose students to research procedures in a unique environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research and training. In addition to the laboratory experience, two additional components of the program are designed to enhance the students’ National Institutes of Health (NIH) experience. Students earn a monthly stipend, depending on their educational level. Students are responsible for travel expenses and making their own housing arrangements. Information on local housing options is provided to all students upon their admission to the Summer Internship Program.

ELIGIBILITY: Enrolled at least half-time in high school or college. Graduating high school seniors must provide a letter of admission from the college that they will be attending the following fall.
