The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has established a program of fellowships to enable Hungarian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Bulgarian, Romanian and Baltic scholars in the humanities and allied social sciences to carry out research at institutes of advanced study in Western Europe. This annual program is directed towards young scholars of outstanding ability who have already obtained their Ph.D. and will fund three short-term residencies of three months. Fellows will receive the equivalent of $11.500 to cover all costs. Fellowships can be taken up from October at the earliest.
