Mary R. Dawson Grant

The newly renamed Mary R. Dawson Grant, formerly the Predoctoral Fellowship Grant, recognizes and supports graduate student research excellence by providing a cash grant of $3,000 USD awarded at the SVP annual meeting. Any student who has advanced to candidacy for the PhD (or equivalent) is eligible. Current membership in the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology is required.

This award is intended to recognize research excellence and promote a successful career in vertebrate paleontology by supporting the recipient?s dissertation research. The grant funds dissertation research travel, data collection and analyses but does not fund living expenses while an applicant is finishing writing or any conference registration or attendance.
