Long-Term Research Fellowship

The Society will award either one long-term grant of six to twelve months or two of a maximum of five months. The stipend, governed by an NEH formula, will be for a term of six to twelve months and smaller amounts for shorter terms. Tenure must be continuous. MHS-NEH fellowships are open to U.S. citizens and to foreign nationals who have lived in the United States for at least the three years immediately preceding the application deadline. Applicants must have completed their professional training; NEH-sponsored fellowships are not available to graduate students. The awards committee will give preference to candidates who have not held a long-term grant during the three years prior to the proposed fellowship term.
