This postdoctoral fellowship supports one semester or research in the collections of the Library of Congress by scholars in history at an early stage in their careers, with special focus on any area of American History as long as the collections of the Library of Congress offer unique research materials. 2-3 mos in residence. ELIGIBILITY: applicants must hold the Ph.D. degree or equivalent; must have received this degree within the past seven years, and must not have published or had accepted for publication a book-length historical work. The fellowship will not be awarded to complete a doctoral dissertation. The applicant’s project in American history must be one for which the general and special collections of the Library of Congress offer unique research support. Applicants should include a statement substantiating this relationship.
