Each year the Humanities Council awards two Hodder Fellowships to exceptional humanists at the early stages of their careers, typically after they have published one book and are working on a second. Preference is given to individuals outside academia. Hodder Fellows spend an academic year in residence in Princeton, pursuing independent projects. Candidates are invited to submit a resume, a sample of previous work (ten-page maximum, not returnable), a project proposal of two or three pages, and a self-addressed stamped envelope for acknowledgement. Letters of recommendation are not required. Materials must be postmarked by November 1 and addressed to the Hodder Fellowship, Humanities Council, Joseph Henry House, Princeton NJ 08544.
