Graduate Research Award

To recognize and encourage excellence in graduate studies in the sciences and technologies of interest to the AVS.

The nominee must be a registered graduate student in an accredited academic institution at the time in which the applications are due. The award may be given to a particular individual only once. previous winners of an AVS Graduate Research Award are eligible to

apply for one of the top-level AVS Student Awards. Graduate Research Award winners are

NOT eligible to win a second Graduate Research Award in a following year and winners of

one of the top-level AVS Student Awards are NOT eligible for any AVS Graduate Student

Awards in following years. Graduate Student Award winners are not eligible for any group or

division awards at the Symposium in the same year. Criteria for selection of the awardees are excellence in research and academic record.

The award consists of a $1,000 award, a certificate, and reimbursed travel support to attend the International Symposium. Approximately ten awards are given annually.
