Fellowship Program

The Foundation provides grants to academic research projects in humanities and social sciences related to East Asia. Eligibility: (1) Must be under forty years old. (2) Must be a doctoral candidate, a university instructor, or a researcher at research institutes. A doctoral candidate must have completed all academic requirements except his/her dissertation. (3) Must be proficient in Korean. (4) Candidates who are receiving support from other programs administered by other foundations are not eligible to receive this fellowship at the same time.

A monthly stipend of 1,500,000 Korean won per month. The Foundation provides international air fare (economy class) for round-trip between the airport nearest to the fellow’s residence and Seoul. Traveler’s insurance is also covered during the grant period. The grant period is from 3 to 12 months starting on September, every year. ***Visit website for current information about the fellowship.***
