Dissertation-Year Fellowships

The goal of the Northeast Consortium for Faculty Diversity is to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties. The Consortium’s three objectives are to maximize the educational benefits of diversity; to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students; and to enhance opportunities for academic careers to persons who are underrepresented in the professoriate and to persons who have demonstrated a commitment to the elimination of racial disparities in the academy. Each Consortium campus will bring one or more dissertation-level graduate students to its campus for 12 months, in order that the students can devote substantial attention to the completion of their dissertation and become acquainted with their host campus and host department. Applicants for these fellowships must have completed all doctoral work except the dissertation prior to beginning the residency year, and they must give convincing evidence that they can complete the dissertation while at the host campus. Application deadline is commonly in January. Visit funder website for more information.
