The purpose of International Academy for Intercultural Research is to promote and facilitate intercultural research in the areas of psychology, communications, education, management, and other areas of specialization in the social sciences. The Dissertation Award is made to the person whose recent doctoral dissertation is judged to significantly contribute to the field. $1,000, one year membership in IAIR and free registration at the IAIR Biennial Conference when the prize is conferred. The winner will be asked to give a presentation of his or her research at the Conference.
The doctoral thesis (dissertation) must be relevant to the field of intercultural studies. It should be unique yet rigorous in its theory and method. Doctoral theses eligible for an award must have been completed (and accepted by the awarding university) during the two calendar years ending on December 31 of the year prior to the Conference year.
