The University of Minnesota will award three or four Clarke Chambers Travel Fellowships to support travel to do research in the Social Welfare History Archives or the Kautz Family YMCA Archives. Preference will be given to dissertation writers and early-career scholars.
Applications should include a vita, a brief research proposal that identifies source materials to be used at the Social Welfare History Archives or YMCA Archives, an estimated travel budget (itemizing expenses up to $800), and not more than two reference letters. The (postmarked) deadline is April 15 each year. A selection will be made within 4-6 weeks; funds are then available immediately.
Travel fellowship funds may be used for transportation, lodging, meals, and (to the extent that funds permit) photocopying of archival documents.
