Elva Knight Research Grant

This $5,000 award supports research in reading and literacy. Projects should be completed within 2 years using any method or approach. Development of new programs or instructional materials is not eligible for funding except where necessary for research.

Special Grants to Support Research in the Paul Ehrlich Collection

This award offers members of the AHA support for their research in Europe, Asia and Africa. The grants are intended to further research in progress, and may be used for travel to a library or archive and copying of research materials. Preference is given to PhD candidates and junior scholars.

German Studies Research Grant

The program is designed to encourage research and promote the study of cultural, political, historical, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary German affairs from an inter- and multidisciplinary perspective. The grant may be used for short-term research (1-2 months) in Germany.

Dissertation Fieldwork Grants

Wenner-Gren Dissertation Fieldwork Grants fund doctoral dissertation research in anthropology. The Foundation supports research that demonstrates a clear link to anthropological theory and debates, and promises to make a solid contribution to advancing these ideas. The award is up to $20,000.

GHI Fellowships at the Horner Library

Award allows Ph.D. and M.A. students and advanced scholars to spend up to four weeks conducting research at the Joseph Horner Memorial Library in Philadelphia.
