We invite applications to the GradFund Summer 2020 Mentoring Program – Virtual.
This 8-week (June 11 – July 30) online mentoring program—consisting of webinars, one-on-one virtual advising appointments, and office hours—is designed to prepare you to submit competitive external funding applications during the 2020–21 academic year.
Applying for and securing external funding to support your graduate study and research is an important part of your scholarly professional development. These awards will bring important recognition and resources to your work and will ultimately help you to complete more robust research.
To write a competitive external funding application, it is critical to get started well in advance of the deadline and to dedicate an adequate time to the proposal development process. As a participant in the GradFund Summer 2020 Mentoring Program – Virtual, you will work with a dedicated Fellowship Advising Team that will guide you in developing your application materials. You will also have multiple opportunities to be in dialogue with fellow participants, as you work toward shared goals and mutually benefit from the support and accountability of a structured mentoring program.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Week 3 & 4 June 22–July 2: Students schedule an individual virtual Application Review meeting with a GradFund Fellowship Advisor for writing assignment #1 (research statement).
Week 5 July9, 1–2 PM: Webinar #4: Writing a Personal Statement July10, 1–3 PM: Webex Office Hours
Week 6 & 7 July 13–24: Students schedule an individual virtual Application Review meeting with a GradFund Fellowship Advisor for writing assignment #2 (personal statement).
Week 8 July 30, 1–2 PM: Summer Mentoring Program Wrap-Up Meeting
