The Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar Awards

Did you know that there is a Fulbright opportunity for postdocs? If you have recently completed your doctorate, or are on the verge of doing so, you may be a good fit for the Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholar Award. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for recently minted scholars from the STEM, social science, and humanities disciplines to pursue research, training, and teaching overseas. As a Fulbright postdoc grantee, you will work with graduate students in the host country, and engage in specialized training and research. Applicants must be a United States citizens to be eligible.

To determine if the Fulbright postdoc makes sense for you, consider if there is a country where you can envision yourself pursuing research, teaching graduate students, and specialized training. You can browse the Fulbright postdoctoral opportunities here. The filtering mechanisms on the website will help you begin to narrow the options and identify a possible fit for you and your research. As part of the Fulbright mission to enhance mutual understanding between the United States and other countries, you will also be expected to engage with the broader academic and social life of the host community.
