An Update on GradFund Services and Consultations

Posted on September 15, 2016 by Teresa M. Delcorso-Ellmann

As the academic year begins, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you news about GradFund services.  We have had a busy summer and are excited to share with you the launch of many new initiatives this fall.

This summer, we launched a new booking process for our individual meetings and expanded our offerings for individual consultations.  You can review the full list of options on our website.

Here, I would like to share with you a quick overview of our services and how to make the best use of them.

First, some logistical information.  In order to book an appointment through our on-line system, you need to log in with your Scarletmail credentials.  This means that the default email address we will use to communicate with you (to confirm your appointment and send you follow-up information), will be your Scarletmail email address.  If you would like for us to use a different email address, please update your email address when you complete the meeting request form.  After you request your appointment, please be sure to check your email for your confirmation message which will include additional information on the steps you need to take to confirm your meeting.  Keep in mind that these emails are not automatically generated and it may take up to a full business day to process your meeting request.  Alternatively, give us a call and we can assist you over the phone with booking an appointment; simply call our appointment request phone line at 848-932-6546.

Depending on the type of consultation you have booked, we may need additional information or documents from you in advance of the meeting.  The follow-up email we will send you will have all of the details so be sure to review it carefully!  If we do not receive the necessary information and/or documents from you in advance of your consultation, the appointment will be cancelled, but you can reschedule.  We often need information and documents ahead of the meeting so that the fellowship advisor or peer mentor that you are meeting with has time to prepare for the meeting so it can be as useful as possible for you.

Oftentimes, students ask if they can request to meet with a specific fellowship advisor or peer mentor.  Yes, you can request to meet with a specific person and we will make every effort to accommodate that request.  However, please keep in mind that we book up quickly and the fellowship advisor or peer mentor that you would like to meet with may not be available.  If that is the case, we will book you with another advisor.

We offer a wide range of consultations designed to help guide you through the process of identifying, selecting and preparing a fellowship or grant application.  You can book more than one appointment and we are here to help you throughout the process.  Visit our booking site today and get started!
