In my last post, I shared with you an overview of the services offered by the Office of Graduate Student External Fellowships and Grants and GradFund. In today’s post, I would like to introduce you to the talented Fellowship Advising Team.
The GradFund Fellowship Advising Team consists of 17 post docs and graduate students who work as Fellowship Advisors, Peer Mentors and Outreach Coordinators for GradFund, the peer mentoring arm of the Office of Graduate Student External Fellowships and Grants.
The GradFund Fellowship Advising Team consists of researchers and scholars no different than you. They are pursuing a PhD or have recently earned their PhD and they have been trained to guide and mentor you through the fellowship and grant application process. The Fellowship Advising team shares with you not only their special training but also insights from their own experiences of applying for funding and a genuine commitment and enthusiasm to help their fellow graduate students succeed.
GradFund Fellowship Advisors and Peer Mentors represent many of the major disciplinary fields in our graduate programs: humanities, social science, engineering, biomedical science, physical science and biological sciences. When you meet with a Peer Mentor or Fellowship Advisor, you may meet with someone familiar with your field of study or not. All of our advisors and mentors have been trained to work with students across disciplinary boundaries. Take advantage of this opportunity to receive feedback and insights from an interdisciplinary perspective.
