Predoctoral Fellowships

The American Society for Nutrition awards these $5000 predoctoral fellowships for important and current research in nutrition science and health. Eligibility for this award is based on membership in the ASN and enrollment in a program listed on the ASN Directory of Graduate Programs.

Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant – Law & Social Science

The Law & Social Sciences Program considers proposals that address social scientific studies of law and law-like systems of rules. The Program is inherently interdisciplinary and multi-methodological.

Through its competitive grants competitions, the Political Science Program of the U.S. National Science Foundation seeks to advance basic understanding and methods in Political Science and related fields to enhance fundamental knowledge and practice.

Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant – Economics

The NSF DDRIG allows doctoral students to improve the quality of dissertation research by providing funds for items not normally available through the student’s university and supporting data-gathering projects and field research that would not otherwise be possible.

Huggins-Quarles Award

Alden G. Clayton Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition

This $5,000 award is given to students working toward a doctorate in marketing or a related field (e.g., organizational behavior, psychology, economics, strategy, management, finance etc.). The dissertation must be no more than fifty percent completed at the time of submission.

A.C. Elias, Jr. Irish-American Research Travel Fellowship

All ASECS members who are resident in North America, and all members of the Eighteenth-Century Ireland Society, who are resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland are eligible to travel to support documentary scholarship on primary sources in Ireland in the period 1691-1800.

Research Support Grants

Research Support Grants are offered in Spring and Autumn each year to assist with research travel costs. They are offered to scholars already engaged in research involving the study of British art or architectural history.
