Short-Term Research Fellowship

The MHS will offer approximately 20 short-term research fellowships in 2017. Each grant will provide a stipend of $2,000 for four weeks of research at the Society. Short-term awards are open to independent scholars, advanced graduate students, and holders of the Ph.D. or the equivalent.

New England Regional Fellowship Consortium

THE NEW ENGLAND REGIONAL FELLOWSHIP CONSORTIUM provides a stipend of $5,000 for a minimum of eight weeks of research at participating institutions. Awards are open to U.S. citizens and foreign nationals.

Long-Term Research Fellowship

The Society will award either one long-term grant of six to twelve months or two of a maximum of five months. The stipend, governed by an NEH formula, will be for a term of six to twelve months and smaller amounts for shorter terms. Tenure must be continuous. NHPRC Archival Research Fellowships

The NHPRC Archival Research Fellowship Program, funded by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, is a three-year program. Through this program, up to five fellowships of $10,000 each may be awarded per year.
