Grants provide airfare for a minimum of four weeks of summer research in Turkey by scholars with Ph.D.s granted in the five years prior to the application deadline in humanities and social science fields.
These grants are for summer travel to Turkey for language study in preparation for graduate research. Normally, the recipients of the Summer Language Study Grants are expected to spend a minimum of two months in Turkey at an established language training facility.
This award provides up to $2,000 to support graduate student research on the Ottoman Balkans. The award can be used to finance a field work trip or to access research materials like manuscripts or books.
