Graduate Student Research Grants

The primary role of the research grants program is to provide partial support of master’s and doctoral thesis research in geological sciences for graduate students at universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America. Eligibility is restricted to GSA members.

GSA Student Associate Member Travel Grants

Financial assistance is offered to students who are members of GSA for travel to GSA section (regional) meetings. Deadlines vary by region. Visit funder website for more information.

Roy J. Shlemon Meeting Awards

Given to graduate and undergraduate students to encourage participation in field trips and short courses held at annual and sectional meetings. Participation on field trips is especially encouraged. J. Hoover Mackin and Arthur D. Howard Student Research Grants
