Alvin H. Johnson AMS 50 Dissertation Fellowships

Three $22,000 dissertation writing fellowships are available per year for doctoral students studying musical scholarship. Students must be studying at a North American university and be ABD when they submit the application.

Howard Mayer Brown Fellowship for Minority Graduate Study in Musicology

One $20,000 fellowship is available for applicants. This program goal is to increase the presence of minority scholars and teachers in musicology. The fellowship supports one year of graduate work for a student at a North American university who is a member of an historically underrepresented group.

The Thomas Hampson Fund

This award provides up to $1000 for research that either fosters editions and scholarship on classic song or promotes new technology for promoting classic song.
