Robert E. Altenhofen Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduate or graduate student members of ASPRS To encourage and commend college students who display exceptional interest and ability in the theoretical aspects of photogrammetry with cash prize of $2,000 and a certificate.

Alfred Sherwood Romer Prize

The Romer Prize recognizes an outstanding scientific contribution in vertebrate paleontology by a predoctoral student. Selection is based on scientific value and quality of a submitted abstract of an original research project and an oral presentation at the SVP Annual Meeting.

SIBC Grants-in-Aid of Research

This grant provides up to $1,000 for research in the fields of integrative and comparative biology. All funds must be used directly in support of the proposed investigation.

Katherin F. Gruber Scholarship

This scholarship aims to support spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of blinded veterans of the US Armed Forces to assist them with their higher education tuition. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit, and can be renewed up to four times.

Research Grants

MSI funds high-quality research that deals with topics of importance to member companies. Research related to MSI’s Research Priorities, which are determined every two years, is especially encouraged. Awards are typically between $3,000 and $10,000.

Nellie Yeoh Whetten Award

To recognize and encourage excellence by women in graduate studies in the sciences and technologies of interest to AVS. Herb Lampert Emerging Journalist Award

This award is open to any student or newly practicing journalist (two years or less) who has a science feature published in print, broadcast, or online (in English or French) during the previous year of the competition cycle. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or residents of Canada.

GCA Award in Coastal Wetlands Studies

This $5,000 award supports young scientists in their fieldwork and research in coastal wetlands (defined as those tidal or nontidal wetlands found in the coastal states, including those of the Great Lakes). Open to graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in coastal wetlands science.
