Fellowships

This residential fellowship is based on the study of a different theme each competition cycle. The application is open to students in all fields, and the Institute especially welcomes applications from individuals who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in scholarly research.

Faculty for the Future Fellowships

Faculty for the Future fellowships are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies who are preparing for PhD or post-doctoral study in the physical sciences, engineering, or related disciplines. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to teaching of science.

Grant Program

These grants are awarded to individuals and organizations to support research on the impact of music on the human condition. Projects should have a strong methodological design and should address an important research question. Archiving and preserving projects are also supported.

Center for Tropical Research Grants Program

The CTFS Grants Program provides opportunities for senior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students to use existing CTFS plots to conduct research with scientists affiliated with them. Social scientists and natural scientists are encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology

This postdoctoral fellowship supports research and training for recent PhDs in order to advance the human resource development goals of the Biological Sciences Directorate. Applicants should propose research and training relevant to the current areas within BIO that have been selected for support.

Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant – Science of Science & Innovation Policy

The Science of Science & Innovation Policy (SciSIP) program supports research designed to advance the scientific basis of science and innovation policy, which includes research to develop models, analytical tools, data and metrics that can be applied in the science policy decision making process.

Postdoctoral Fellowships

Argonne’s Postdoctoral Program offers three different categories of fellowships for basic and applied research in the physical sciences to outstanding candidates.

Research Fellowships

3 year postdoctoral fellowship is offered on specific arts, humanities, and social science topics each year to graduates of any university. It is intended to support those at an early stage in their careers, and will normally be awarded to a recent Ph.D. or candidate very close to completion.

Clay Research Fellowship

Multiyear postdoctoral fellowship support for mathematicians doing advanced research. Several previous research fellows have won the Fields Medal. Applicants must be nominated: See website for details.

Early Care and Education Research Scholars: Child Care Research Scholars

Child Care Research Scholar Projects should build the capacity in the research field to focus on questions that have direct implications for child care policy decision making and program administration and to foster mentoring relationships between faculty members and high-quality doctoral students.
