Short Term Fellowships

The Library Company of Philadelphia and The Historical Society of Pennsylvania will jointly award approximately twenty one-month fellowships for research in residence in either or both collections. Candidates are strongly encouraged to inquire about the appropriateness of the proposed topic.

Title VIII-Supported Short-Term Grant

These short-term grants allow scholars in the social sciences or the humanities who are researching the former Soviet Union (policy-relevant research preferred), and who need to use the library, archival and other specialized resources of the Washington, DC area.

American Geographical Society Library Research Fellowships

Mary Catherine Mooney Fellowship

The Fellowship offers a stipend of $1,500 for a residency of twenty days (four weeks) to support the use of the collections for research, publication, curriculum and program development, or other creative projects.

Caleb Loring, Jr. Fellowship

The Fellowship offers a stipend of $1,500 for a residency of twenty days (four weeks) to support the use of the collections for research, publication, curriculum and program development, or other creative projects.

American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Fellowship

The Fellowship offers a stipend of $1,500 for a residency of twenty days (four weeks) to support the use of the collections for research, publication, curriculum and program development, or other creative projects involving the Boston Anthenaeum’s holdings relevant to the 18th century.

Suzanne and Caleb Loring Fellowship on the Civil War, Its Origins and Consequences

The Fellowship offers a stipend of $4,000 for a residency of at least four weeks to support the use of the collections for research regarding the American Civil War.
