Mark Pinson Grant for Graduate Research on the Ottaman Balkans

This award provides up to $2,000 to support graduate student research on the Ottoman Balkans. The award can be used to finance a field work trip or to access research materials like manuscripts or books.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in African American Studies

The yearlong appointment provides Fellows with an opportunity to focus on their own research and publication agenda in African American Studies while building networks with faculty on and off-campus.

Dissertation Fellowship

This is a $10,000 award for a student studying the history of the Franciscan Family in the United States, Canada, Latin America, including the United States Borderlands, Mexico, Central and South America.

Dissertation Fellowships in Disability Policy Research

The dissertation fellowship program provides financial support to outstanding doctoral students from diverse fields conducting high-quality research in areas of significance to disability policy.

The Humane Studies Fellowship

A renewable, non-residency fellowship program for IHS alumni (i.e., those who have been awarded the IHS PhD Scholarship), the Humane Studies Fellowship awards up to $15,000 per year to support graduate students in PhD programs.

Mahindra Humanities Center Postdoctoral Fellowships

This $65,000 fellowship supports recent doctoral recipients working on a topic determined for that year’s application cycle.

National Humanities Center Residential Fellowships

This residential fellowship supports scholars for advanced study in the humanities. Junior scholars must demonstrate outstanding scholarly credentials (e.g., sole-authored, peer-reviewed publications) to be competitive.

School of Social Science Visiting Scholars Program

This residential fellowship offers one full year of support for scholars to pursue their research and participate in seminars. Each application cycle is based on a different theme, but applications outside the theme are also welcomed.

Doctoral Scholarships

This residential fellowship supports doctoral candidates for dissertation completion. Applicants must be engaged in research related to European history and religious or church history. The stipend is €1,200/month for up to 12 months.

Postdoctoral Fellowships

This residential postdoctoral fellowships aims to support promising young researchers to develop a new project after the conclusion of their PhD. Research topics need to cover European history and religious or church history. The stipend is €1,800/month for up to 12 months.
