Scholarships for Foreigners

This fellowship provides non-Greek citizens the opportunity to pursue research in Greece.

Early Career Fellowships

These postdoctoral Fellowships support China Studies scholars in preparing their Ph.D. dissertation research for publication or in embarking on a new research project.

AIA The Anna C. and Oliver C. Colburn Fellowship

This grant supports studies at the ASCSA for no more than a year. Applicant must be citizen or permanent resident of the US or Canada, at the pre-doctoral stage or have recently received a Ph.D. (within five years of the date of the application), and must apply concurrently to the ASCSA and AIA.

Margaret Dale Philip Award (funded by CFUW Kitchener-Waterloo)

For graduate studies in the humanities or the social sciences. Special consideration is given to study in Canadian History only as a deciding factor, all else being equal. The applicant must reside in Canada.

Mellon-CES Dissertation Completion Fellowship

Mellon-CES Dissertation Completion Fellowship provides a $25,000 stipend for doctoral candidates working on humanities topics in European Studies. Applicants must be able to demonstrate they will will complete their dissertation during the fellowship year.

Career Development Grant

The AAUW Career Development Grant (up to $12,000) is for women who, through additional higher education, technical training, or participation in professional development institutes, are making career changes, seeking to advance in current careers, or re‐entering the workforce.

Promise of Nursing Regional Faculty Fellowship

This fellowship awards up to $7,500 in funds for tuition, fees, and books to registered nurses who are enrolled in graduate level degree programs to pursue nurse education.

Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

This post-doctoral fellowship provides a stipend of approximately $48,000 to scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Fellows participate in the academic and intellectual communities.

Dissertation Fellowship in African and African Diaspora Studies

This fellowship provides a $30,000 stipend, health insurance, and a 1,500 research expense budget for projects focusing on a topic in African or African Diaspora studies. The fellow delivers a public lecture and teaches a seminar course.

Penn Predoctoral Fellowship for Excellence Through Diversity

These awards are designed to provide mentorship and access to Penn’s resources for doctoral students in the humanities or social sciences, enrolled in graduate or professional programs at universities other than Penn, as they complete their dissertations.
