Research Associateship Programs-Postdoctoral and Senior Awards

The Resident Research Associateship Programs provide postdoctoral and senior scientists and engineers with opportunities to conduct research on projects, largely of their own choice, which are compatible with the research interests of the sponsoring laboratories, thereby contributing to the overall research efforts of the federal government. Lederman Fellowships

Appointments are awarded on a competitive basis from among the applicants for first postdoctoral appointments in experimental physics at Fermilab. The term is for three years.

Point Scholarships

Point Foundation provides financial support, mentoring, leadership training and hope to meritorious students who are marginalized due to sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Graduate Fellowships in the Applied Physical Sciences

The Graduate Fellowship Award supports students of the applied physical, biological and engineering sciences who demonstrate exceptional creativity and intelligence. The award includes five years of fellowship with full tuition support.

Chateaubriand Fellowship- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)

This fellowship aims to initiate or reinforce collaborations, partnerships or joint projects by encouraging exchange at the doctoral level. PhD students at an American university can conduct research in a French laboratory for 4-9 months as part of a co-supervised PhD.

Michigan Society of Fellows

The Michigan Society Fellows is a 3-year postdoctoral position. Each Fellow has an appointment as Assistant Professor in an affiliated department of the University and an appointment as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Society of Fellows. The current annual stipend is $52,000.

Doctoral Dissertation Award

ACM established the Doctoral Dissertation Award program to recognize and encourage superior research and writing by doctoral candidates in computer science and engineering. The award of $20,000 is presented to the author of the best doctoral dissertation, and the dissertation is published by ACM.

Life Member Graduate Study Fellowship

The fellowship is awarded annually to a first year*, full-time graduate student obtaining their Masters for work in the area of electrical engineering, at an engineering school/program of recognized standing worldwide. Air Pollution Educational and Research Grant (APERG)

The goal of this grant is to provide financial support that enables doctoral students and postdoctoral scientists to pursue research on air pollution, air quality, the atmosphere, or another closely related field of study. Applicants must be in the MASS-A&WMA region.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program for Young Professionals

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals is a full-year work-study program in Germany. No prior German language required, intended primarily for young adults in business, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields, though applicants from all fields are encouraged to apply.
