Critical Language Scholarship Program

Critical Language Scholarships support intensive overseas study in the critically needed foreign languages: Arabic, Bangla/Bengali, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Turkish, and Urdu. Programs range from 8 weeks to 11 weeks.

Scholar Awards

Awards are made to graduate students in sciences relevant to plant nutrition and management of crop nutrients.

Joseph A. Cushman Award for Student Research

The award supports worthy Master’s and Doctoral Student research projects dealing with the systematics, biostratigraphy, paleoecology, and ecology of fossil or living foraminifera. ***Visit website for contact information to send application materials.***

Loeblich and Tappan Student Research Award

The award supports undergraduate and graduate student research on any aspect of living or fossil foraminifera or other protists, such as diatoms, coccolithophorids, dinoflagellates, acritarchs, or radiolaria. ***Visit website for contact information to send application materials.***

Earth Institute Fellows Program

The Fellows Program is the premier program in the world for those dedicated to a better understanding of critical scientific and social issues related to meeting global sustainable development goals. Postdoctoral Fellows are appointed for two years and receive a salary and research stipend.

NYU Postdoctoral and Transition Program for Academic Diversity (PTP-AD)

Fellowship program supports under-represented groups who will contribute to academic excellence at NYU. Appointments are for two years. Fellows teach a maximum of one course per semester, participate in school and departmental activities, and receive mentoring support.

Lewis and Clark Fund for Field Exploration Research

This grant encourages exploratory field studies for the collection of specimens and data to provide the imaginative stimulus that accompanies direct observation. Applications from disciplines with a large dependence on field studies are invited, but applicants from all fields may apply.

Graduate Fellowships in Population Dynamics and Marine Resource Economics

The goal of this award is to encourage research by students studying population dynamics, stock assessment, or marine resource economics. Fellows work closely with a NOAA Fisheries mentor, who will serve on the Fellow’s committee, and who may provide access to data, lab space or research vessels.

Kleinhans Fellowship for Research in Non-Timber Forest Products

Ecologically-sound uses for Latin American tropical forests to prevent their destruction, Emphasis: forest products for local use or export; the Fellowship is for the development of a product or marketing technique that provides local income without destroying forest ecosystem integrity. 2-year funding at $15000/year. Proposal no more than 5 pages.

Energy Fellowship Program

In an effort to foster education and innovation in the area of societal production and utilization of energy, the Link Foundation invites applications for Fellowship in the Energy Field. This is a 2-year fellowship.
